About This Procedure
Otoplasty, often called ear pinning, brings ears that protrude closer to the head and defines the folds of the outer ear. When you look at a before and after pair, the useful comparisons are how far the ear sits from the scalp, how clearly the fold of the rim shows, and whether the two ears look balanced against each other. Individual results vary, and these photographs show one patient's outcome.
The incision for the traditional technique sits in the crease behind the ear, so the scar is hidden from the front. The guide to ear pinning surgery covers the procedure, anesthesia and recovery, and the page on ear pinning cost and recovery on Long Island explains the practical details.
More cases are in the men's ear gallery and the full ear surgery gallery. The ear surgery page describes the range of corrections available, and you can arrange an assessment with Dr. Doshi through the consultation page.
