REVISION RHINOPLASTY FAQ

How soon after rhinoplasty abroad should I seek a revision consultation?

If you have persistent breathing difficulty or clear structural problems, seek evaluation promptly. For primarily cosmetic concerns without functional issues, most surgeons recommend waiting at least a year to allow full healing before pursuing revision.

Can Dr. Doshi evaluate my nose without my original surgical records?

Yes. A thorough physical exam and, when needed, imaging can provide the structural information needed for surgical planning even without access to the original operative notes.

Is revision rhinoplasty more complicated than my original surgery?

Generally yes, since revision cases often involve scar tissue, altered anatomy, and sometimes depleted cartilage that requires sourcing from the ear or rib rather than the septum.

What if my septum cartilage was already used in my original surgery?

Surgeons can source additional cartilage from the ear or, for more extensive needs, the rib, depending on what your specific revision requires.

Will revision rhinoplasty cost more than my original surgery abroad?

Typically yes, reflecting the additional complexity and surgical time involved in revision cases, which is worth planning for financially before proceeding.
